Information

Scarce passage migrant and winter visitor. An Eastern Asian species with a restricted range in the Western Palearctic. Shikra refers to “hunter” in the Hindi language.
Where in Kuwait 
Considered an elusive species and is more often recorded in the far west oasis farm and at Jahra Farms in winter.
In the world 
It has a large range with a stable population, extending throughout much of sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, India, and central and south-east Asia, as far as Thailand and Vietnam. This species is also found in the Arabian Peninsula, with native populations occupying Saudi Arabia and introduced populations occurring in the United Arab Emirates.
