Breeds locally in inland waters such as at Jahra Pool Reserve when water conditions are favourable.

A sedentary species which is the smallest Palearctic Grebe that has an extremely large range. It is locally dispersive or fully migratory depending on the winter temperatures of it's breeding grounds.
