Information

Common breeding resident. Small numbers forage frequently in shallow eutrophic bays, but most are concentrated at Bubiyan during the nesting season. Up to 200 recorded in mid May 2002; and 75 breeding pairs on Bubiyan in 2004.
Where in Kuwait 
Outside the breeding season, it has been seen in small numbers along the Jahra Bay coastline. In summer, most birds are concentrated on Bubiyan and Warba Islands during the breeding season.
In the world 
Most populations are resident and nomadic, but Palearctic populations are fully migratory. It usually nests in small monospecific groups amongst mixed species colonies.
