Rare winter visitor. A thrush from central and northern Asia that regularly reaches Kuwait in very small numbers. Often seen singly, but a count of 24 individuals was recorded at Al-Abraq in mid January 1985.
Where in Kuwait
It has been recorded in a variety of habitats from Green Island, to Jahra Farms and out west at Al Abraq
In the world
It has an extremely large range and a population trend that is difficult to determine because of uncertainty over the impacts of habitat modification on population sizes. The breeding range of this species extends from the extreme east of Europe to Western Siberia and north-west Mongolia. It is a migratory Asian species with a wintering range extends from the Middle East, although uncommon in the Arabian Peninsula to eastern Burma.
