Information
Uncommon passage migrant and summer visitor; rare winter visitor. Widespread in Kuwait and may even breed at certain localities. It often hunts insects at night over desert, farmland and especially at wetlands, even at the tiniest ponds.
Where in Kuwait
It is a species of the desert, but requires some habitat where it can roost undisturbed and undetected during the day. It is active at dusk, when it feeds on a variety of flying insects, predominantly beetles and moths but also flies, crickets, termites and flying ants

It has an extremely large range with a declining population due to habitat loss. The breeding range of this species extends through most of North Africa, the Middle East and south-western Asia, while in the winter months it migrates to the warmer regions of North Africa. It is thought that its breeding season is timed to coincide with seasonal peaks of insect abundance,
