Common disperser in spring, summer and autumn. Local breeder, which has bred at remote coastal areas such as Bubiyan Island. Generally found in pairs or small groups; 161 recorded in mid July 1956 at Kuwait Bay.
Where in Kuwait
This species is more often found in stony desert habitats and generally prefers relatively flat areas with only low, sparse vegetation. It is often recorded along the coast in Sulaibikhat Bay in the summer. Increased desertification may even be benefitting this desert-dweller, allowing it to extend its range in some areas
In the world
It has an extremely large population with a stable population, however the global population size is unknown due to recent taxonomic splits. It is is found from the Cape Verde and Canary Islands, across North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, and into Asia. C. c. cursor moves southwards in winter, when its range extends into northern Kenya, Sudan and the Sahel region of Africa, and it also winters in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East
