Information

Rare passage migrant and winter visitor. Very small numbers observed nearly every year from December to March.
Where in Kuwait 
It has been recorded in both fresh water and northern coastal sites in Kuwait Bay, inland pools in Jahra but also as far south as Khiran.
In the world 
Found across most of Europe and central Asia. Colonies can be found scattered through Africa from the north to as far south as Southern Africa. Nesting colonies are also found in southern Australia and New Zealand.

Hazards of migration across inhospitable and desert areas.
