Rare autumn and spring passage migrant. Often hunts in agricultural land and wetlands where it may prey on small mammals, birds, insects and reptiles.
Where in Kuwait 
Generally, the black-winged kite prefers open areas such as savanna, grassland and even rocky desert. In Kuwait is has been found in coastal and inland pools in the Jahra area as well as irrigated farmlands.
In the world 
This species has an extremely large range. It can be found from sea-level to elevations as high as 3,000 metres in Africa.
Local threats 
Expansion of human development and the use of rodent poisons.
