Information

Rare passage migrant and winter visitor. An Asian specialty rarely reaching the Western Palearctic. A close relative of the Black-headed Bunting with which it is known to hybridize south-east of the Caspian Sea.
Where in Kuwait 
Difficult to distinguish from Black-headed Bunting in winter plumage but would occur in similar habitats to the Black-headed Bunting.
In the world 
It has an extremely large range with a stable population and it breeds in central Asia. It is migratory, wintering in India. Its natural food consists of insects when feeding young, and otherwise seeds.
Local threats 
Indiscriminate shooting during migration.
