Scarce passage migrant. An elusive bird, similar to Savi’s Warbler in some respects. Although it may prefer damp habitats, it is often found in desert oasis and farmland away from wetlands during migration. Often skulks and forages close to the ground.
Where in Kuwait
It is is a skulking species where it creeps through grass and low foliage. It found in dense vegetation close to water or near a river and is more often heard than seen on passage
In the world
It has an extremely large range with a population that is suspected to be stable in the absence of evidence for any declines or substantial threats. It breeds in east and central Europe into western Asia. It is migratory, wintering in east Africa. The song is a monotonous mechanical insect-like reeling, often given at dusk. It is similar to the song of other species in the group, but has more of a sewing machine quality, and may be produced for long periods
