Information
Scarce passage migrant, primarily observed during the spring in the company of other warbler species. A bird with a unique warbling song interrupted with nasal “violin” sounds. 
      Where in Kuwait 
    It species found in open areas with closely packed trees and bushes but also in parks and  mature gardens, often near water. It has been recorded at the oasis farm at Al Abraq.
      In the world 
    It has an extremely large range but the population is suspected to be in decline in part owing to competition from population is suspected to be in decline in part owing to competition from Melodious Warbler (H. polyglotta) in the west of the range  in the west of the range. It breeds in mainland Europe except the southwest, where it is replaced by its western counterpart, Melodious Warbler. It is migratory, wintering in sub-Saharan Africa. The term icterine refers to its yellowish colouration. It is insectivorous, but will take other small food items, including berries. It is colloquially referred to by birders as Icky
