Common passage migrant and winter visitor. Up to 150 individuals have been recorded; often seen at Jahra Bay and vicinity. This elegant, long-necked duck usually feeds in deeper water than its relatives.
      Where in Kuwait 
    In winter it prefers sheltered coastal habitats and inland waters in the Jahra area.
      In the world 
    A thin-necked dabbling duck with a long bill with a mainly continental distribution in west Palearctic.
      Local threats 
    Shooting is a threat for Geese and Ducks during passage migration.
