Information
Rare winter visitor and uncommon passage migrant. In Kuwait small numbers of this species are recorded mostly along Kuwait Bay. A goose-like duck that is quite terrestrial in its behavior and may exhibit dispersive or nomadic movements.
Where in Kuwait
Has been recorded along Jahra Bay Coast, but can also be found on inland wetlands and pools. It has been recorded a little more regularly in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
In the world
It occupies a wide spectrum of inland biotopes, from coasts of inland seas and lakes up to hills and high plateau's in mountainous regions.
Local threats
Shooting is a threat for Geese and Ducks during passage migration.
